Manufacturing Supervisor

Monroe, NC

Essential Functions:

· Will be managing 50 to 75 production employees daily.

· Will be updating schedules and reviewing time cards weekly.

· Participate in identifying hiring needs; employee selection and training processes.

· Responsible for mentoring and developing team members

· Able to conduct reviews, verbal or written warmings.

· Production challenges are not straight forward will be different each day being a custom make to order company.

· Will be on the production floor 70% of the time and the environment is hot, cold and dirty. Will be required to wear PPE when in production.

· Provide team leadership consistent with company core values and purpose.

· Schedules various operations required to meet customer demand from receiving and handling of raw materials to packaged finished product ensure proper production processing.

· Oversees the packaging, handling and transportation of end products and ensures timely delivery and conformance with required deadlines

· Plans and determines internal resource needs and constraints, and develops production scheduled to ensure effective achievement of company needs

· Plan details of production activity in terms of output quality and quantity, cost, time available, and labor requirements

· Prepare work programs to achieve planned production and direct production control activities

· Coordinate and direct quality control procedures, and the implementation of safety requirements

· Direct research into new and improved production methods and products

· Advise and inform on production matters to management/supervisor personnel

· Recommend and implement initiatives such as new techniques and products, purchases of new machinery and changes in staff levels

· Ensures production of a quality product, delivered on time within an established budget; maintains a high value on employee relations and a safe working environment

· Plan and coordinate department's activities to support SQDC targets, and meet and/or exceed customer's expectations.

· Drives the continuous improvement efforts (LEAN, 5S, Visual Management, TQM, Hour By Hour Boards, Kaizen Newspaper, Standard Work, etc.)

· Must be able to work and respond in a fast-paced environment

· Responsible for staffing the operation as business needs change to include adding headcount and/or reducing headcount

KSAs

· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent manufacturing experience

· Five (5) to fifteen (15) years in operations and manufacturing processes; management in a manufacturing environment

· Experience in working in a team environment.

· Ability to effectively lead and motivate staff

· Excellent communication and writing skills from production employees to executive level.

· Must be able to prioritize, manage deadlines and make decisions

· Excellent problem-solving skills

· Management and supervisory principles and practices

· LEAN Manufacturing Experience

· · Proficient with Microsoft tools like Outlooks, Excel and Word
